The Ford Focus RS Mk3 was built from 2016 to 2018, and rally style mudflaps are one of the consistent exterior additions its owners add. They fill the arch profile cleanly, protect the lower bodywork and rear quarters from stone chips and road contamination, and suit the car’s stance without adding visual noise.
Before ordering, the generation question is worth addressing directly. The RS Mk3 kit is not the same as the RS Mk2 kit. If you own a 2009 to 2011 RS Mk2, that car has a wider arch profile and a different mounting system. See the Ford Focus RS Mk2 fitment guide for that car. This guide is for the 2016 to 2018 RS Mk3.
If you are still at the research stage on what separates rally style mudflaps from universal rally mudflaps, see our guide to the difference between rally mudflaps and rally style mudflaps.

Which Focus RS Mk3 models does this kit fit?
The PolyWard kit fits every Ford Focus RS Mk3 built between 2016 and 2018. Unlike the Focus ST250, the RS Mk3 comes in one trim level, so there are no variant-specific fitment questions. If your V5C records a Ford Focus RS built in those three years, this is the correct kit for your car.
All RS Mk3s share the same arch profile and arch liner mounting points regardless of which options or colour were specified. The kit covers every RS Mk3 produced across the full production run, including cars in Nitrous Blue, Magnetic Grey, Shadow Black, Frozen White, and Race Red.
Fitting: what’s involved
The RS Mk3 kit uses the same mounting system as the Focus Mk3 ST250, because both cars share the same Mk3 platform and arch liner fixing points. Front mudflaps use the existing arch liner mounting points. The three original push-fit clips are removed, the U clip brackets sit behind the liner, and the mudflaps are fixed using the supplied screws and fir tree clips. No new holes need to be drilled into the bodywork for the front fitment.
The rear is more involved. It uses a metal bracket mounted to the existing rear arch liner fixing points. PolyWard sends the rear brackets pre-bent and ready to fit, packed protectively so they arrive in the correct shape. Bending the rear brackets incorrectly is the step most commonly cited as difficult by owners fitting Mk3 mudflaps. Getting the angle wrong means either a loose mudflap or a bracket that needs rebending, which stresses the metal. Pre-bent brackets remove that problem before the kit arrives.
What’s in the kit:
- 2 front mudflaps and 2 rear mudflaps shaped for the RS Mk3 arch profile
- All required brackets and fixings, including the pre-bent rear brackets
- Printed vehicle-specific fitting instructions
Fitting all four corners typically takes two to three hours on a first attempt. Removing the wheels gives significantly better access to the arch liner mounting points and is worth doing even if it feels like an extra step.
Full general guidance is in the PolyWard rally style mudflap fitting guide. Vehicle-specific printed instructions are included in the box.

Fitting on a lowered RS Mk3
Suspension modification is common on the RS Mk3. BC Racing, KW, and Ohlins coilovers are all widely fitted, and lowering springs from Eibach and H&R are popular options. A significant proportion of RS Mk3 owners are running more than 20mm of drop, which makes the question of trimming more relevant here than on some other vehicles in the PolyWard range.
PolyWard trims mudflaps before dispatch at no charge:
- 10-20mm drop: no trimming needed
- 20-30mm drop: approximately 10mm trimmed from the bottom edge
- 30-40mm drop: approximately 20mm trimmed from the bottom edge
- Aggressive or slammed fitment: 25-30mm trimmed from the bottom edge
The trim is taken from the bottom edge only and does not affect the arch liner mounting positions or fixing points. Include your approximate drop in millimetres in the order notes, or get in touch before ordering. The mudflaps arrive pre-trimmed and ready to fit.

Material and specification
PolyWard Focus RS Mk3 rally style mudflaps are 4mm PVC throughout. One specification, no thinner alternative.
4mm is the correct material for a product that needs to handle UK winter salt and grit, resist stone impacts without cracking, and hold its shape against the arch profile at motorway speeds without distorting. It meets Motorsport UK’s minimum thickness specification for competition use, not because these are competition mudflaps, but because 4mm is simply the right specification for road use.
For an honest look at when cheaper alternatives are worth considering and when they are not, see our comparison of hard plastic vs PVC rally style mudflaps.
Rally style mudflaps are legal on UK roads and will pass an MOT when correctly fitted. For the full detail, see our guide to aftermarket mudflap legality in the UK.
Colour options
Four colours are available: black, red, white, and blue.
Black works with every RS Mk3 paint colour. On Nitrous Blue, Magnetic Grey, Shadow Black, Frozen White, and Race Red, it reads as a purposeful addition rather than an obvious aftermarket fitment. It is the most popular choice across all Focus RS Mk3 builds for that reason.
Blue mudflaps suit Nitrous Blue RS Mk3s well. Kept plain, they sit cleanly with the car’s colour rather than contrasting against it.
White works on Frozen White cars and can work on Race Red, where a deliberate contrast is part of the build direction. On darker paint colours, white draws attention to the mudflaps more directly, which suits some builds and not others.
Red is the least common choice on the RS Mk3, but it can work on Race Red or white cars, depending on the overall direction of the build.
Logo options
Available plain, or with the PolyWard logo in two variants: the small P mark or the full PolyWard text logo. Both are available in multiple colours across all four mudflap colours.
Ford RS badge logos are not offered. Using manufacturer badge artwork without authorisation is copyright infringement, and any supplier offering official-looking Ford RS logos is operating in legally uncertain territory. Plain remains the most popular choice for owners who want the look without any additional branding visible on the car.
Delivery
Orders placed before 3 pm ship the same day. Standard delivery is 3 to 4 working days. Express shipping gives 2 working-day delivery.
The pre-bent rear brackets are prepared in advance, so there is no additional lead time for the RS Mk3 kit.
RS Mk3 or RS Mk2? Making sure you have the right kit
The RS Mk2 (2009 to 2011) and RS Mk3 (2016 to 2018) take completely different mudflap kits. The Mk2 has a wider arch profile and a different mounting system. The kits are not interchangeable between generations.
If you own an RS Mk2, see the Ford Focus RS Mk2 fitment guide and buyer’s guide for the correct kit and fitting detail.
What about the Focus Mk3 ST250?
The Focus Mk3 ST250 and the RS Mk3 share the same Mk3 platform and the same arch profile, so both cars use the same mudflap kit. PolyWard lists them separately so that owners of each can find the right product without navigating a shared listing.
If you own a Focus Mk3 ST250, see the Ford Focus Mk3 ST250 fitment guide and buyer’s guide.
