The Ford Focus Mk3 ST250 is one of the most modified hot hatches on UK roads, and rally style mudflaps are consistently one of the first exterior modifications owners add. They finish the arch profile cleanly, protect the lower paintwork from stone chips and road spray, and give the ST the purposeful stance that the factory setup never quite achieves on its own.
If you’re still researching what separates rally style mudflaps from universal panels, see our guide to the difference between rally mudflaps and rally style mudflaps.
This guide covers fitment compatibility across the full Mk3 range, how the fitting process works, what to do if your car is lowered, and what separates the PolyWard kit from the alternatives.

Which Focus Mk3 models does this kit fit?
The PolyWard Focus Mk3 rally style mudflap kit fits every Ford Focus Mk3 and Mk3.5 model built between 2012 and 2018. That covers:
- Ford Focus ST250 – pre-facelift (2012-2014) and facelift Mk3.5 (2015-2018)
- Ford Focus Zetec S – all years
- Ford Focus ST-Line – all years
- Ford Focus S – all years
- All standard Focus Mk3 hatchback variants
The Mk3 and Mk3.5 facelift share the same arch liner mounting points and arch profile, so this kit covers both generations without modification. If your V5C records a Ford Focus built between 2012 and 2018, this mudflap set will fit.
The Focus RS Mk3 uses the same kit but is listed separately to help RS owners find the right product more easily; see the Ford Focus RS Mk3 mudflap kit here.
Fitting – what’s involved
The Mk3 kit uses the existing arch liner mounting points for the front mudflaps, the three original plastic push-fit clips that secure the inner arch liner are removed, the U clip brackets are inserted behind the liner, and the mudflaps are fixed using the supplied screws and fir tree clips. No new holes need to be drilled into the car’s bodywork for the front fitment.
The rear fitting is more involved than the front. It uses a metal bracket that mounts to the existing rear arch liner fixing points. Here’s the important detail: PolyWard sends the rear brackets pre-bent and ready to fit. You don’t need to bend them yourself.
This matters because bending the rear brackets is the step most commonly cited as the most difficult part of installing the Focus Mk3 mudflaps. Getting it wrong means either a loose mudflap or a bracket that needs rebending, which risks stressing the metal. By sending them pre-bent and packed in a protective box, that problem is removed before the kit arrives.
What’s included:
- 2 front mudflaps and 2 rear mudflaps shaped for the Focus Mk3 arch profile
- All required brackets and fixings, including the pre-bent rear brackets
- Printed vehicle-specific fitting instructions
Fitting all four corners typically takes two to three hours on a first attempt. The front mudflaps are straightforward, but the rear takes a little longer due to the bracket arrangement. Removing the wheels gives significantly better access to the arch liner mounting points and is worth doing even if it feels like an unnecessary extra step.
Full general guidance is in the PolyWard rally style mudflap fitting guide. Vehicle-specific printed instructions are included in the box.
The lowered car question
Lowering is one of the most popular modifications on the Mk3 ST250. Eibach springs, Mountune springs, and coilovers from BC Racing and others are all commonly fitted. The mudflap clearance question is worth addressing before you order.
On a standard height car, there is no issue.
For lowered cars, the same free trimming service that applies to all PolyWard rally style mudflap kits applies here:
- 10-20mm drop: no trimming needed
- 20-30mm drop: approximately 10mm trimmed from the bottom edge before dispatch
- 30-40mm drop: approximately 20mm trimmed from the bottom edge before dispatch
- Aggressive or slammed fitment: 25-30mm trimmed from the bottom edge before dispatch
The trim comes from the bottom edge only and does not affect the arch liner fitment or fixing positions. Just mention your approximate drop in the order notes or via email before purchase. Let us know what your drop is in millimetres, and the flaps will arrive trimmed and ready to fit.

Material and specification
PolyWard Focus Mk3 rally style mudflaps are made from 4mm PVC throughout – one specification, no budget 3.2mm option, no material matrix to navigate.
4mm PVC at this thickness is the correct material for a product that needs to deflect stone impacts, handle UK winter salt and grit, and hold its shape against the arch profile at motorway speeds without distorting or cracking. It meets Motorsport UK minimum thickness requirements, not because these are competition mudflaps, but because 4mm is simply the right specification for road use.
Rally style mudflaps are legal on UK roads and will pass an MOT when correctly fitted. For full details, see our guide to aftermarket mudflap legality in the UK.
Colour options
Four colours are available: black, red, white, and blue.
Black is the most popular choice across all Focus Mk3 variants, and it pairs well with every exterior colour Ford offered, reading as a purposeful addition rather than an obvious aftermarket fitment. Red suits the Rado Red and Performance Blue ST250s particularly well. White works best on white cars. Blue is less common but effective on blue and silver variants.
Logo options
Available in plain solid colour with no logo, or with the PolyWard logo in two variants: the small P mark or the full PolyWard text logo. Both are available in multiple colours across all four mudflap colour options.
Ford ST or RS badge logos are not offered. Using manufacturer badge artwork without authorisation is copyright infringement. Any supplier offering official-looking Ford badge logos is operating in legally questionable territory. The plain option remains the most popular choice for owners who want the look without any additional branding visible on the car.
Delivery
Orders placed before 3 pm ship the same day. Standard delivery arrives in 3-4 working days. Express shipping is available for 2 working day delivery.
The made-to-order model used by some mudflap suppliers in this category means lead times of 10-14 working days as standard. PolyWard mudflaps are in stock and ship immediately. The pre-bent rear brackets are prepared in advance, so there’s no additional lead time for the Mk3 kit.
Focus Mk3 ST250 vs Mk2 ST225: which mudflap kit?
A common question from owners who have previously had an Mk2 ST225 or are comparing the two generations. The kits are different; the arch profiles and mounting systems are distinct between the Mk2 and Mk3. If you’re ordering for a Mk3 (2012-2018), this is the correct kit. For the Mk2 and Mk2.5 ST225 (2005-2011), see the Ford Focus Mk2 ST225 fitment guide and buyer’s guide.
What about the Focus RS Mk3?
The same mudflap kit fits the RS Mk3; the arch profile and mounting system are shared with the ST on the Mk3 platform. PolyWard lists the RS kit separately to make it easier for RS owners to find the right product. See the Ford Focus RS Mk3 mudflap kit here.
If you own a Fiesta ST rather than a Focus ST, see the Ford Fiesta ST Rally Style Mudflaps Fitment and Buyer’s Guide.
See the Ford Focus Mk3 ST250 rally style mudflaps here. Available in black, red, white, and blue, plain or with the PolyWard logo. Pre-bent rear brackets included. Same-day dispatch on orders before 3 pm.
