Ford Fiesta ST Rally Style Mudflaps: Fitment Guide and Buyer’s Guide

The Fiesta ST is one of the most loved hot hatches ever made, and one of the most modified. Rally-style mudflaps tend to be among the earliest exterior upgrades owners go for, and it’s easy to see why. The lower arches on a Fiesta ST take a constant battering from road debris and stone chips, and a set of well-fitting mudflaps solves that problem while genuinely improving the look of the car.

This is the guide for every Fiesta ST owner who wants to know what fits, how it fits, and what to expect before ordering.

If you’re still researching what separates our precision made rally style mudflaps from universal or budget options, see our guide to the difference between rally mudflaps and rally style mudflaps.

What fits? Mk7, Mk7.5, ST180, ST200 and beyond

The PolyWard Fiesta ST mudflap kit fits every Ford Fiesta Mk7 and Mk7.5 built between 2012 and 2017. That includes the ST180, the ST200, and all standard Fiesta Mk7 variants, including Zetec, S, and ST-Line. If your Fiesta was built in those years, this kit fits your car.

The ST180 is the most common of the ST variants, and the one most owners are fitting these to. The ST200 uses the same arch profile, and the same kit fits perfectly. Though given how rare the ST200 is, if you own one, you probably already know that. For a broader look at exterior modifications for the Fiesta ST, see our Fiesta ST Mk7 exterior mods guide.

What it looks like on the car

This is what most Fiesta ST owners actually want to know before buying; not the technical spec, but whether it looks right on their car.

The short answer is yes. The mudflaps are shaped to follow the arch profile of the Mk7 and Mk7.5 exactly, which means they sit flush against the bodywork rather than sitting proud or drooping away from the arch. On a standard height car, they hang just below the sill line. Purposeful, clean, and exactly what you’d expect from a well-specced fast Ford.

On a lowered Fiesta, the visual impact is even stronger. The combination of a dropped ride height and properly fitted mudflaps gives the car a finished, complete look that’s hard to achieve any other way at the price.

Rally style mudflaps are legal on UK roads, and you won’t have any issues come MOT time, as long as they are correctly fitted. For full details, see our guide to aftermarket mudflap legality in the UK.

Fitting: what’s actually involved

The Fiesta ST kit uses powder-coated metal brackets for both front and rear. These need to be bent to the correct angle before fitting. The bracket bending process is covered step by step in the printed instructions included with the kit, with diagrams showing the exact angles required.

The fitting uses existing arch liner mounting points, so no drilling into the bodywork is needed. With the wheels removed for access, most people complete all four corners in one to two hours on a first attempt.

The full general process is covered in the PolyWard rally style mudflap fitting guide. The vehicle-specific printed instructions with the bracket diagrams are in the box.

Lowered Fiesta ST? What you need to know

Lowering is a common practice on the Fiesta ST. Many owners go to springs or coilovers at some point in their ownership. The mudflap clearance question comes up regularly, and the answer is straightforward.

On a standard height car, there is no issue at all.

For lowered cars, the free trimming service applies, just mention your drop in the order notes:

  • 10-20mm drop: no trimming needed
  • 20-30mm drop: approximately 10mm trimmed from the bottom edge before dispatch
  • 30-40mm drop: approximately 20mm trimmed from the bottom edge before dispatch
  • Aggressive or slammed: 25-30mm trimmed from the bottom edge before dispatch

The trim comes from the bottom edge only. It does not affect the bracket fitment or the fixing positions. The flaps arrive ready to fit, meaning no trimming is required on your driveway after fitting.

Colour options

Four colours: black, red, white, and blue.

Black is by far the most popular; it works on every Fiesta ST colour Ford offered, from Orange or Performance Blue to Frozen White and Panther Black. Red is a strong choice for red and black cars.

If you’re not sure which colour works best on your specific car, think about your overall colour scheme and accent colours. Sometimes contrast works. A black mudflap on a light car or a white mudflap on a dark car reads more clearly and looks more intentional than a matched colour that disappears into the bodywork.

Logo options

PolyWard Fiesta ST180 mudflaps are available in either a plain solid colour or with the PolyWard logo. Two variants of our logo are available: the small P mark or the full PolyWard text logo. Both are available in multiple colours across all four mudflap colour options.

No Ford or ST badge logos. Using manufacturer badge artwork is copyright infringement. Plain is the right choice for most owners and the most popular option by a significant margin.

Colour matching: a quick guide

Based on what Fiesta ST owners actually order:

  • Orange Fiesta: black mudflaps with black or orange PolyWard “P” logo
  • Performance Blue: black mudflaps with white or red logo
  • Frozen White: black mudflaps – the contrast is clean and sharp
  • Panther Black: red or white mudflaps for contrast, or black plain for a stealth look

These are starting points, not rules. The plain black option suits almost every exterior colour and is never a wrong choice.

How does this compare to other options?

The main alternative in this space is RallyFlapZ, another in the UK aftermarket mudflap area. A few practical differences worth knowing:

RallyFlapZ operate on a made-to-order basis, typically with a 10-14 working-day lead time. PolyWard mudflaps are in stock and ship the same day.

RallyFlapZ offers multiple material options: 3.2mm budget PVC, 4mm PVC, and polyurethane. PolyWard offers one specification: premium 4mm PVC throughout. No budget tier, no confusing material matrix.

Both are UK-made. The practical differences come down to lead time, material specification, and who you prefer to buy from.
